Meet Dr. Abusharr

Raja Abusharr, M.D.

Dr. Abusharr is not your traditional doctor. In college he was a dual major in English literature and art history, and he pursued a master degree in art history before receiving his M.D. from Oregon Health Sciences University in 2000 with a scholarship from the National Health Servies Corp. Dedicated to becoming a physician for all people Dr. Abusharr completed his residency in Family Medicine at Lancaster General Hospital, one of the oldest and most prestigious programs in the country, in 2003. He began his medical career as the medical director of a new community health center in Missouri where he and his family remained until early 2006 when the family moved to Texas. During those two and half years he established one of the most reputable medical clinics in the community. Dr. Abusharr proudly completed his NHSC scholarship obligation in Splendora Texas in winter 2006. Dr. Abusharr and his wife Dalia Abusharr (who serves as office manager) opened Family Medicine at Sterling Ridge on August 27 2007. The couple and their two daughters, Julia (5) and Lydia (4), are residents of The Woodlands.

Dr. Abusharr serves on the medical staff of Memorial Hermann The Woodlands, St. Luke's The Woodlands - He also holds a faculty position at Baylor College of Medicine as Assistant Clinical Professor.
